Terms of Service

Last updated August 28, 2026

By using GameAesthetics (gameaesthetics.cc), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

What GameAesthetics is

GameAesthetics is a free, informational field guide to video game visual aesthetics, with a history, color palette, type treatments, and moodboard for each era. It's part of the webaesthetics.cc network. It's provided for reference and inspiration, not as professional design, legal, or business advice.

Content

The written descriptions, histories, and palette curation on this site are original to GameAesthetics. Moodboard images come from Wikimedia Commons and stay under their original public-domain or Creative Commons licenses. Each entry shows the credit and a source link; check that license before reusing an image yourself. Everything else on the site is provided "as is" for reference; we don't warrant that any of it is complete, current, or error-free.

Acceptable use

Please don't try to disrupt the site, scrape it at abusive volume, or use it to violate any law. Reading, browsing, and referencing an entry for your own project are exactly what it's here for.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GameAesthetics won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.

External links

The site links to third-party sites (such as our support page, Wikimedia Commons image credits, and sibling sites in the network). We aren't responsible for the content or practices of those sites.

Changes

The site's content, features, and availability may change at any time without notice. We may also update these terms; the date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
